Dr Hamid Karimi is a specialist plastic surgeon who is also a professor of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and has primarily worked in the Middle east, Dubai. He has over 20 years of experience in plastic and aesthetic surgery and over 10 years of experience in general surgery. In 1989 he completed his medical degree in 1989 and then his General Surgery degree in 1993 at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, shortly after completing Fellowship in Maxillofacial Surgery in Paris, France.
Dr Hamid Karimi carries out a range of plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures, including blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, tummy tuck, liposuction, breast implants, face lift, brow lift and chemical peel. He also has expertise in burn reconstruction and cleft lip & palate reconstruction.
Over the past 18 years Dr Karimi has been a professor to aspiring plastic surgeons and to date he has trained over 219 plastic surgeons. Dr Karimi is also a member of various academic journal editorial boards, including JAD Journal, and PRS-GO Journal, and has published over 82 academic papers in his field of expertise in as a peer-review journalist. The papers have had over 833 citations.
Dr Karimi is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the International Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
BACKGROUND & WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1983: Dr Hamid Karimi attended the Tehran university to complete his M.D.
- 1990: He began studying his masters in general surgery.
- 1999: He began studying his PhD in plastic and aesthetic surgery.
- 2002: He Attended the Henri Mondor Hospital to complete his fellowship in maxilla-facial surgery.
- At this time, he also worked at the Motahary burn hospital as the head director.
- 2004: He worked as an assistant professor of plastic surgery.
- 2008: Dr Karimi became an active member of Burns research
- 2011: Began working at Arya clinic as a specialist plastic surgeon.
- 2015: Joined the Iran university of medical sciences as a full-time professor.
